This method provides teachers with a unique skill to assess the learning of their
students. It is a cooperative model, between teacher and Paul Fisher. It is tied to and
rooted in the on-going classroom curriculum. It is not another artist-in-education add-on. It is a singular method which
encourages teachers to use creativity to help students explore and show what they know.
It is simple to learn and very effective.Unlike other Progams, it teaches how to tap the creativity in students and to help them
present knowledge in a creative fashion. From the first few moments in the classroom, the students will be challenged to present
their knowledge. This method, uniquely, allows for assessment in
every area of the curriculum. The students can present Math, Science,
Language, Social Studies and any other topic that is being taught. It is easy to learn. After approximately, 5 hours of in-class, cooperative
teaching and modeling, I can expose a teacher to begin the
basics of this way of assessment. A longer collaboration will
produce a deeper understanding of the techniques and
greater facility in leading them.My way of assessing student knowledge is grounded in my research, the
multiple intelligences, cooperative learning, sign systems and whole-child
engagement. I have many years of Research and many testimonials
to attest to the fact that I present a unique perspective
and teaching approach, unavailable elsewhere.Recently a principal wrote to me, "Your time at our school has enlightened
so many. Each day you're with us another teacher will approach me and
thank me for the opportunity to see their students in a different perspective."
